Private firm prices: check the scope

  • No representative England/Wales price range has been verified for this guide. Ask the firm for a current written quote.
  • What tank type and volume is the quote based on?
  • Does it include travel, disposal, any inspection and VAT where applicable?
  • Are difficult access, extra volume, emergency attendance or an abortive visit charged separately?
  • If comparing quotes, give every firm the same information. A tank-emptying quote may not include fault diagnosis or repair.

Keep costs attached to their date and job

  • Ask whether the price is fixed for the described job or an estimate subject to inspection.
  • Record any additional charges authorised during the visit.
  • Check a published tariff again when booking; do not treat this dated guide as a firm’s current offer.
This guide does not decide whether a particular installation meets every condition. Check unclear rules with your nation's regulator, and service, design or price questions with the firm.
